Innovative Live Moss Wall Art

Moss Pure, the world’s first and only 100% live moss wall art that doubles as a certified air filter and stress relief device, and the Ronald McDonald House of Atlanta, collaborated on the installation of a custom 100% living moss wall and air filter in a new innovation center at the Arthur M. Blank Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Moss Pure also collaborated with internationally recognized architectural firm Perkins and Will on this project. 

Custom Moss Wall Engineered for McDonald’s

Perkins and Will and the McDonald’s Design Team worked with Moss Pure to bring the LIVING moss wall to life. In this unique design, elements of McDonald’s branding can be subtly and obviously be seen.

The 6 ft 11 inch x 10 ft 6 inch living moss wall contains several species and subspecies of 100% LIVING moss originating from different regions of the United States. The piece is constructed with a white oak wood frame created by Moss Pure and a custom stain and finishing formulated by Moss Pure. There are also five uniquely painted butterflies, and the Ronald McDonald branded heart, custom stained by Moss Pure to match the wood frame and to match the white oak woodwork throughout the hospital. Moss Pure engineered custom standoffs at different lengths so that the butterflies appear to be floating out of the living moss into your space.

If you’ve seen a moss wall out and about or on the internet, it’s most likely preserved moss, which is no longer living. Other moss companies use preserved moss. Preserved or fake moss is treated with chemicals, gives off a strong chemical smell, and needs frequent replacement and maintenance, Moss Pure is a completely different product and uses only 100% live moss. Due to the complex, patent pending science behind Moss Pure’s design, Moss Pure’s living moss does not need watering, maintenance, or sunlight and lives indefinitely within the product design.
