Live Moss Wall for Luxury Sustainable Apartment Building

Moss Pure collaborated with Lenox Design Studio and the Boston Real Estate Collaborative (BREC) to create a live moss wall air filter for The Terra on Lenox. The Terra is Boston’s First Ground-Up Mass Timber Multifamily Building (more information here: https://www.brec-llc.com/portfolio/11-east-lenox).

The Terra on Lenox redefines modern luxury and sustainability – and when they asked for Moss Pure’s LIVE moss wall art and air filter – we were ready to work with them. BREC’s main reasoning for going with Moss Pure is that they previously worked with preserved moss, which is no longer living and treated with toxic chemicals. BREC found that preserved moss didn’t last and needed constant maintenance, and most importantly – preserved moss is not sustainable or environmentally friendly. Preserved moss actually pollutes your surrounding air with the chemicals that are used to treat it. The dyes and chemicals come off onto your hands, fingers, and furniture.

Instead, BREC and Lenox Design Studio chose Moss Pure’s LIVE moss wall art for their space. The reasoning being that it’s living moss, and because of Moss Pure’s patent pending technology, no watering, sunlight or maintenance is needed, while being engineered to last.

Moss Wall Art & Air Filtration

Moss Pure custom created the frame using premium white oak wood. We then custom stained the frame matte black with a beautiful grain pop of the wood pattern clearly shown within the wood. If you look closely within the details, the grain pop in the wood matches the pattern in the LED metal sign. This aesthetically pleasing design is also a certified air filter and stress relief device.

Using different species of our lush green living moss, the Moss Pure living moss wall and air filter is capturing:

• 2,281,250 ppm of CO2 yearly

Pollutants (dust, allergens, pet dander, VOCs, metals, bacteria, viruses, mold, etc)

• 19,981,088,542 ppm of pollutants yearly
